Since 2024, we have been gathering all of your ideas and feedback to understand what you want to see change over the next 10 years in Rawtenstall Waterfoot and Crawshawbooth.
We have secured £20m to deliver our Regeneration Plan (link just here) Pride in Place Regeneration Plan over the next decade and this is just the start as we aim to use this to bring in more investment.
The funding features capital and revenue allocations and is profiled over the 10 years, capital spend steps up from year 2, so ideas can be developed in detail.
The projects that have been selected for the Pride in Place programme over the first 4 years are:
Redevelopment of the former picture house on Bacup Road
Public realm improvements in Waterfoot
Upgrades to bike tracks and footpaths
A creative skills mentoring programme and public art initiatives
A young people’s enterprise and entrepreneurship scheme
Stronger links between schools and local businesses
A new community base on the Staghills Estate
A new road layout scheme in Crawshawbooth
Learning space at the Whitaker Museum
Football pitch improvements at Alder Grange and Marl Pits
New play equipment at Edgeside Park
Community Grants scheme
Building Repairs
