Youth & Beyond is a programme helping young people across Rossendale develop the skills, confidence and connections they need to take their next steps in education, employment and beyond.
Funded through the Pride in Place programme and delivered by To The Summit, the project brings young people together with local businesses and professionals through interactive workshops, practical challenges and early careers activities.
Working with local schools, To The Summit will give young people opportunities to explore different career paths, learn about the world of work and develop the skills that will support them in the future.
The programme focuses on four key areas, helping young people develop skills that will support them throughout their education, careers and everyday lives.
Developing the confidence to express ideas, share opinions and communicate effectively with others.
Learning how to work as part of a team, listen to different perspectives and solve problems together.
Encouraging young people to recognise their strengths, try new things and feel more confident about their future.
Inspiring young people to ask questions, explore opportunities and think creatively about what they could achieve.
Through interactive sessions, young people will have the chance to tackle real-world challenges, take part in practical activities and work alongside others to develop their skills.
These activities are designed to make learning engaging and enjoyable, giving young people the opportunity to put their ideas into practice, try something different and learn from each other.
An important part of Youth & Beyond is bringing education and local employers closer together.
Local businesses and professionals will contribute to workshops, share their experiences and help young people understand the different routes into employment, apprenticeships and further education.
This will also give businesses an opportunity to connect with the next generation of local talent and play an active role in supporting young people across the borough.
To The Summit is leading the delivery of Youth & Beyond, bringing its experience of working with young people, developing skills and creating opportunities for personal growth.
Through its work with local schools, businesses and other partners, the programme aims to create meaningful experiences that help young people recognise their strengths, build confidence and feel positive about their future.
